At Genesee Valley Outdoor Learning Center, facilitators guide groups of 10 to 12 participants through various initiatives, team-based activities, and problem-solving on our low ropes course in the mornings, fostering group cohesion, stronger sense of communication and a "thinking outside the box" mindset. Following lunch, we head into the woods utilizing our high ropes challenge course after lunch which encourages participants to step outside their comfort zones. This role requires proficiency in facilitating high and low ropes elements, debriefing skills acquired in a two-week training, including belaying, ziplines, and rescues. Facilitators engage with participants of all ages and backgrounds, lead initiatives and activities, and create a positive space where learning, adventure, and self-expression are embraced without judgment. This position entails the ability to facilitate high and low ropes course elements (belaying and ziplines) with efficiency in debriefing skills (learned in 2 week training).
Fall season runs 3rd week of August through mid November
Spring runs early April through late May/early June
Staff must pass the standard State and National Background Checks.
