But as our programs continue to grow, we must expand to meet their evolving needs. By helping us build an Educational and Multi-Use Facility, you're investing in more than a structure — you're cultivating a sustainable legacy where individuals connect with the natural world, ensuring a thriving future for generations to come.
A Foundation for Growth
Fundraising Progress
For 40+ years, GVOLC has built a unified community of more than 1,000,000 emboldened individuals and environmental stewards. Our experiential education programs empower individuals and groups to build confidence, resilience, and adaptability — skills that translate seamlessly to everyday life. And you have the power to help us expand!
Genesee Valley is pleased to announce that we have been awarded the $100,000 Maryland Bond Initiative. This funding will be instrumental in the construction and planning of our new building, which is poised to enhance our facilities and expand our outreach efforts. We extend our gratitude to our local government officials, dedicated community members, and valued organizations for their ongoing support. Together, we are excited about the positive impacts this new development will bring to the community and the programs we offer.

All donations to Genesee Valley Outdoor Learning Center are tax deductible. Instead of making one large donation, you may consider committing to recurring donations, which can provide tax deductible benefits on an annual basis. This approach not only helps support our programs and services consistently but also allows you to manage your giving over time. Each contribution, whether one-time or recurring, plays a vital role in enhancing the outdoor experiences we offer to our community. Thank you for considering supporting us in this meaningful way.

Appreciated Stock - Appreciated Stock can provide an attractive means of giving. Through this type of gift, one can receive the charitable income tax deduction and avoid paying taxes on the “capital gains” that would otherwise be due if the stocks were sold. By gifting the stock to a GVOLC, you will avoid paying capital gains tax, thereby increasing the value of your gift.
Life Insurance - GVOLC may be named as the beneficiary or owner of an insurance policy. The latter method may provide attractive income tax benefits.
A Qualified Charitable Donation - A qualified charitable distribution (QCD) allows individuals who are 70½ years old or older to donate up to $105,000 annually to GVOLC directly from a taxable IRA instead of taking their required minimum distributions.
Retirement Account - You may name Genesee Valley Outdoor Learning Center as the beneficiary of your retirement accounts. When an individual inherits a non-Roth IRA, the distribution is taxable income. A charity can receive the IRA income tax-free.
