Grant and Scholarships

We understand the cost of a field trip can be prohibitive for some of our partner organizations. Thus GVOLC provides two sources of support:

1.  Scholarships for programming:  Scholarships are provided through an ongoing scholarship fund.  This fund is supported by private donations, micro-grants and supplemented by the program fees of GVOLC's corporate clients.  These opportunities can help supplement schools that cannot afford to pay full price for a program or provide full funding for very small programs.

2.  Specific grant opportunities:  Grant opportunities are partnerships between GVOLC, the school/non-profit/organization attending Genesee Valley's programming and an outside organization or state entity that provides the funding.  These opportunities allow for one or more schools/organizations to experience our programs free of charge, but require much more oversight.  There is always a chance that the grant will be rejected or only a portion of the project will be funded.

Genesee Valley can work with your organization to seek and obtain funding via grant opportunities.  GVOLC's Director of Development can help you find and apply for grant opportunities that align with your program goals.  If your organization has a "lead" on an opportunity you would like to support with, please email info@geneseevalley.org and we can help you mange the process.

All Grant and Scholarship opportunities are at the discretion of GVOLC and are not guaranteed.  We ask for programs seeking funding for 30 or more students please allow up to six months for grants to be approved.
